Continuing on with the cats eating food section, let’s talk about a popular summer fruit. Strawberries!

Strawberries are a favorite snack of mine especially when adding whipped cream onto it.

As you know, cats can in fact whipped cream! But can this entire snack be shared with your fur-babies?!

Can cats even eat Strawberries?!

When it comes to strawberries, they are not considered toxic to cats. Therefore if your cat eats strawberries, chances are they will be perfectly fine.

Unlike citrus fruits, strawberries do not contain toxic essential oils that oranges.

Are Strawberries Safe For Cats?

Technically, Strawberries are completely safe for cats to eat.

However, if you do decide to give cats strawberries you want to give it to them in moderation. Cats are carnivores by nature, so their main food source should be meat.

Strawberries are mainly carbohydrates so they do not provide a lot of nutrients your cat need to stay lean and strong.

(Which isn’t a huge deal in moderation, but we can’t eat brownies everyday either).

Will cats even eat strawberries if they are given to them? I hate this question because there is really not one true answer.

Every since cat is different, and their tastes are completely different. I have one cat that won’t try any human food at all, and other any has to taste every single thing I am eating.

Chloe will try any food once, even the ones that others say cats will not like at all!

So the best recommendation I have is to let your cats try it. If they like it, give it to them as a special treat!

If your cat eats strawberries, you have nothing to fear.

Strawberries are completely safe for cats to eat strawberries. If it is your first time giving cats strawberries, I would still recommend watching them for the next 24 hours.

While they are completely safe for cats, every cat is unique and your cat can have an odd reaction. If you do notice your cat acting weird after eating strawberries, call your vet immediately.

While cats can have them as a treat, you still want to give them strawberries in moderation! Even though strawberries are considered safe to eat by diabetics, cats shouldn’t digest strawberries regularly.

Simply put, cats don’t digest sugar the same way humans do.

Cats are carnivorous and having too much sugar in a cat’s diet will cause digestive or diabetic issues over time. It’s ultimately recommended to not feed cats strawberries in large quantities, especially as a meal replacement.
